October 3, 2024:
Today is a lovely Thursday. How did we get to the last leg of our trip? Tuesday, October 1st, Brady and I spent the afternoon doing a long hike! He said he was originally going to propose there. It was a LONG hike, but the top was beautiful.

Of course had to start the day with breakfast, a brezel (pretzel) and butter! Do you see how much butter is in that thing? :)

Our hike up to Schneeburg.

It was another rainy day so had my jacket and umbrella with me.

On our way up!

So far the view up is remarkable.

We ran into some cute cows on our way up. The view at the top was an abandoned castle. On our way back down it started pouring, but at the end of the day it was fun.

We made it to the top. The town below is Ebringen. We went down to that town afterwards to explore.

This is the abandoned castle. We took some nice pictures of the place and Brady explained that he was going to propose there a year before, but we ended up not making a trip to Germany in 2023, and he had a different plan in mind at the apple orchard which worked out perfectly.
The rain picked up as we went down, and the restaurant wasn’t open in the below town, so we ended up taking a train back to Freiberg, freshening up and got dinner in our neighborhood. We had a delish meal. We walked over in the rain, but it's typical. It was actually kind of a long day, we had many ways of transportation to getting up to that castle. It was worth it.

On our way down!

The slugs looked so weird!

What a guy, he offered to wear my backpack down since it was pouring rain. It got so cold!

We made it to Ebringen!

There were lots of pretty flowers in the gardens by people's homes.
When we were finally dry from the wet rainy day and in our dinner clothes, all was well.

I got a hugo cocktail (originated in Europe), an apertif with prosecoo, seltzer, elderflower syrup and mint leaves, and pork schnitzel and fries (AGAIN) because it was one of my favorite meals. :) We had a nice dinner there then walked back and called it a night. I was tired from that super long hike. It was probably 3 miles there and back, or more. :)
