On October 2nd, Brady and I took a long two hour train to Stuttgart for the Canstatter Volksfest. We were decked out in our dirndls and lederhosen. We got some nice coffee on the train ride there and listened to our tunes in our earbuds. We had to take a couple transfers and were in a standing only train for most of the second leg. That’s the unglamorous part of public transportation. It’s not always fun, but better than renting a car for a day. We arrived with beaming eyes to the largest festival I’ve ever seen and been to. We stopped at one of the main halls because we heard music playing from outside. We sat down and ordered some food. A while later, a gregarious group of guys welcomed us in from Heilbronn, Germany, and we all had beers over smiles and laughs. Of course I couldn’t understand anything but Brady interpreted it. I also had a random Asian guy hand his phone to Brady to take a selfie with me. I guess I looked like an Authentic German girl, while posing with a thumbs up with him. Hilarious.

On our first train, the ICE.

The man was handing out cappuccinos and coffee for purchase.

High speed train!!
We arrived!!

We made it to the largest festival I've been to. It wasn't an Oktoberfest festival, that was in Munich, but this is the second largest festival in Germany, and it was plenty big for us.
We checked out one of the halls for lunch. Brady got the currywurst and I got the chicken special!

That's a lotta beer!

We had a blast in this hall listening to the music and laughing. I loved my outfit :) We got home so late and were exhausted. So we had soda cocktails and I ate a pizza from the shop across the street. It was the perfect end to the day.

The random guys took pics with us below.

We had a blast, we then walked around the festival and got more food!

We bought one of these also.

When we left it was a race to the train, we missed our second train (not our fault) and had to wait for another one. When we got back to the hotel we were beat, since it was over 2 hours in the train, and we had been wearing our tight outfits all day. We changed, walked to REWE for some beverages and I got a pizza from the shop across the street. It was decent and tasted good after running around in the train station and being tired. We had a long Wednesday but it was an absolute blast. I'd love to go to Munich one day, too.
