September 20, 2024:
It’s my first morning waking up in Freiburg, Germany. The sun is shimmering on in our thick glass windows that overlook the city. Across the street is a big apartment building and to
the left is the gorgeous scenery- clusters of hills, with apartment buildings, other buildings, etc. It truly is a vision. The soft glows of the morning sun spill onto the bustling city and I get to witness it.

Here is my desk, I’m drinking my water with my tincture in it and starting the day off by writing. That’s the book I attempted to read on our second plane ride into Basel.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day, but boy was it long. We took a long 8-hour flight into Germany- first the delay, then we arrived in Amsterdam, then took a short plane ride into Basel, France, then a bus into Freiburg, and a street car (Straßenbahn) into the neighborhood of our hotel. It’s a Green Hotel, it’s eco-friendly & ecological, so modern and fun. It’s the perfect size for me and Brady. We have a sweet desk, a big bed with nice headboard, nice sized bathroom, stand up shower, and a little balcony overlooking the city.
I feel inspired to be waking in a new country and want to keep pursuing good thoughts and not looking back, there are so many good things ahead. Each day is a blessing and we are given challenges, but I’m choosing to look past my challenges.
Our first adventure last night after we unpacked was hiking up to a local vineyard and having dinner overlooking the scenery. It was idyllic and I’ve never experienced anything like it. The horses that appeared with these young ladies, that they walked up the hills, people of all ages riding bikes along the trail, walking around. We headed up to the top and the view was stunning.

Our hotel: Green City Hotel (Vauban)

Such an unreal view.

Our amazing view of the city.

This view felt like a movie!

That was our first day, (19 September) on our walk back, in the dim light, we walked down a big trail, there were slugs, we picked grapes off the vineyard, eating them and spitting out the seeds, passing German speaking people, and running into a bustling venue with jazz music, it was all so beautiful! We went to a local grocery store, REWE, and bought German snacks, wine, water, etc. I love this city. <3
